(31 Aug. 07) Mr K. S. Yum, Administration Officer of RCARO, made a presentation on RCA programme at the 7th Vietnam National Nuclear Conference that was held in 30-31 August 2007 at Danang, Viet Nam. More than 200 nuclear-related professionals of Viet Nam attended at the Conference and expressed their keen interest in the RCA programme. It was a good opportunity to increase awareness of RCA to the various nuclear-related communities of Viet Nam. Mr K. S. Yum visited Viet Nam with KAIST faculty members in order to promote the RCA-KAIST Master¡¯s Degree Programme on Nuclear and Quantum Engineering targeting the young nuclear scientists and engineers of the RCA Member States.

The Conference was organized jointly by the Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission (VAEC), Viet Nam Atomic Energy Society (VAES) and Danang Science and Technology Department.

The KAIST faculty members and Mr K. S. Yum of RCARO also visited Thailand to the same effect. They visited the Office of Atoms for Peace (OAP) and the Thai Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT) which is a sole nuclear R&D institute in the nation.
